My first review...
Múm-They Made Frogs Smoke 'til They Exploded
Fat Cat Records
Out on Download & 7"
With this first taster of forthcoming album 'Go Go Smear The Poison Ivy', Icelandic electronica group Múm have taken a distinct new direction with the addition of more traditional instrumentation, compared to the glitches and bleeps of yester-year. While they still are the main focus of Múm's sound, 'They Made Frogs Smoke...' sees the addition of harmonica to the evergrowing collection of sounds at their disposal. With the ever-creepy loop of children singing incoherently, coupled with Hildur Gudnadottir's almost whispered vocals, they have created a delicate and beautiful sound that relaxes and excites in equal measure.
